Pallas Theatre Collective Announces Call for Submissions for the Second Annual Table-Read Series

Pallas Theatre Collective, based in Washington D.C., is now accepting new musical submissions to be considered for their annual Table-Read Series, which offers creative teams the opportunity to workshop and present new musical theatre material.

The Table-Read Series aspires to help musical theatre writers polish their material, present their material to an informed audience for helpful constructive criticism, and promote their material for future production. Furthermore, Pallas intends to produce a full production of one of its Table-Read selections during the 2014 season.

Works ranging from classical musical comedy to opera to more avant-garde forms are all welcome. Both one-acts and full-length pieces will be considered. All works must be less than two hours in length.

All submissions must be submitted electronically. Each submission must have:

• Short bios/resumes for the creative team
• Any production history for the piece and a summary of the work
• One contact person and their e-mail address
• A complete book/libretto (a Word *.docx or *.pdf)
• A complete score (a *.pdf, Finale file, or Sibelius file) No lead sheets!!!
• A sample of music (an *.mp3 or *.wav)
• All of these items required must be e-mailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. attached to a single e-mail. If the files are too large, they may be sent separately, but the same contact person must do so and specify as such.

NOTE: The sample of music must contain the equivalent of at least three songs, if not the complete recording. The sample may be professionally recorded and high studio quality, but may also be more rough and informal: however, it should provide a clear auditory sampling of the quality of the music and the lyric.

There is a $25 submission fee that must be paid through this website concordant with the submission of materials. Materials will not be considered unless the submission fee is paid.

Two submissions will be selected for rehearsal and presentation in June 2013 in the Washington D.C. area. Pallas will e-mail the contact person once the selections have been made.

Submissions are due by December 31st, 2012. The selected musicals will be announced on March 1st, 2013.
